Boston Marathon Registration Fee

Boston Marathon Entry Fees

Overview

The Boston Athletic Association (BAA) has announced that only athletes who are accepted into the Boston Marathon will be charged the entry fee. The entry fee for the in-person 125th Boston Marathon for qualifiers has been set.

Entry Fee

The entry fee for the 125th Boston Marathon is $250 for US runners and $300 for international runners. The entry fee includes a commemorative race bib, a finisher's medal, and a post-race meal.

Athletes who are not accepted into the Boston Marathon will not be charged the entry fee. However, they may still be able to run the marathon by fundraising for a charity or by winning a race that offers guaranteed entry into the Boston Marathon.

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon

To qualify for the Boston Marathon, runners must meet certain time standards. These time standards vary depending on the runner's age and gender. Runners can qualify for the Boston Marathon by running a qualifying time at a certified marathon or by running a qualifying time at a non-certified marathon and then submitting their time to the BAA for verification.

The qualifying times for the Boston Marathon are as follows:

  • Men: 3 hours and 30 minutes
  • Women: 4 hours

Runners who have qualified for the Boston Marathon will be notified by the BAA in September. Qualified runners will then have until October 15 to register for the marathon.

The 125th Boston Marathon

The 125th Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023. The race will start in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and finish in Boston, Massachusetts. The race will be televised live on NBC.
