Yves Klein (French pronunciation: [iv klɛ̃]; 28 April 1928 – 6 June 1962) was a French artist and an important figure in post-war European art. He is best known for his exploration of monochrome painting, particularly his signature International Klein Blue, as well as his use of novel materials and techniques in his art, such as fire, water, and sponges.
