Barcelona return to winning ways with 1-0 home victory over Osasuna

Raphinha's header proves the difference as Blaugrana move to within two points of leaders Real Madrid

Barcelona returned to winning ways in La Liga with a 1-0 victory over Osasuna at the Camp Nou on Sunday. Brazilian winger Raphinha scored the only goal of the game with a header from close range in the 21st minute, assisted by Frenkie de Jong.

The Blaugrana dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the match, but they were often wasteful in front of goal. Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski both missed good opportunities to add to the scoreline, while Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera made a number of fine saves to keep his team in the game.

However, Barcelona held on to secure all three points and move to within two points of leaders Real Madrid. The victory was also a welcome boost for manager Xavi Hernandez, who had come under pressure following a disappointing start to the season.

Osasuna remain in 10th place, but they will be disappointed to have lost this match. They had a good chance to take the lead in the first half, but Chimy Avila missed a penalty. The visitors also had a few other good chances to score, but they were unable to find the net.
