Chennedy Carter: A Rising Star in the WNBA

Early Life and Career

Chennedy Carter was born on November 14, 1998, in Mansfield, Texas. She began playing basketball at a young age and quickly established herself as a standout player. Carter attended Duncanville High School, where she led her team to three straight state championships. She was named a McDonald's All-American and was considered one of the top recruits in the country.

College Career

Carter played college basketball for the Texas A&M Aggies. She had an immediate impact on the team, leading them to the SEC Tournament Championship in her freshman year. Carter was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and was a three-time All-SEC selection. She averaged 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in her college career.

WNBA Career

Carter was drafted fourth overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She quickly became a key player for the team, averaging 14.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in her rookie season. Carter was named to the All-Rookie Team and helped the Dream reach the playoffs. In 2023, Carter was traded to the Chicago Sky. She has continued to excel in Chicago, averaging 19.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game in her first seven games. Carter is one of the most promising young players in the WNBA and is poised to have a breakout season in 2023.
