Former Saint Steve Gleason and Wife Michel Welcomed a Baby Girl

New Orleans is home to the couple's second child

Former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason and his wife, Michel, have welcomed their second child, a daughter named Gray Varisco Gleason, according to a tweet from Steve.

The couple announced the birth of their daughter on Tuesday afternoon in New Orleans. Gray joins her older brother, Rivers, who was born in 2016.

Gleason and his wife Michel Rae Varisco have been married since 2008. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Rivers, in 2016. Six weeks after Rivers was born, Gleason was diagnosed with ALS, a fatal neurodegenerative disease.

Since receiving his diagnosis, Gleason has been an advocate for ALS awareness and research. He founded the Team Gleason Foundation, which provides support and assistance to people with ALS and their families.
